All 32-bit libraries are missing

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When launching Steam, an error window saying many libraries are missing show up.

You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:

libvstdlib_s.so
libv8.so
libavcodec.so.58
libavutil.so.56

libSDL2-2.0.so.0
libXtst.so.6
libXrandr.so.2
libXrender.so.1
libXi.so.6

Pressing OK lets me continue to the Steam client as normal. However, I am unable to launch Portal 2 (in console, it says libSDL2-2.0.so.0 is missing). All these libraries seem to be present in ~/.steam/bin32/. I tried completely wiping Steam from my system with apt remove and rming the folders, but the issue still persists. Adding ~/.steam/bin32/ to ldconfig somewhat works but Portal 2 then breaks on finding libtier0.so and libvstdlib.so

Doing sudo apt install libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 does remove the libSDL2-2.0.so.0 line from the error, but I can't find libraries for all packages, and the steam-libs-i386 package should install these anyway right?

Steps for reproducing this issue:

Download the deb from the website and install it
Launch Steam for the first time to install it
Error pops up

Hello @ramidzkh, this reads like something went wrong with the LD_* style steam runtime. If you completely close Steam, then run steam from a terminal, are there any hints in the terminal spew? Also, can you check that ~/.steam/root/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/ looks fairly well populated and not a minimal set of libraries or missing?

Nothing here worked. I ended up re-installing my distro and it worked... :shrug:
