Steam Client build: Dec 1st 2022
Distriibution: Mint 21
Beta: no
System updates: yes

  1. Plugged in a non-PowerA Nintendo switch pro controller
  2. It is recognized and works immediately on Steam and other programs
  3. Unplugged that controller, inserted a PowerA switch pro controller
  4. It is recognized as "Generic Gamepad Controller" on Steam, but Steam doesn't receive inputs from it when I test. No other program acknowledges that the controller is plugged in.

The other programs I'm testing with are jstest-gtk and an emulator (Yuzu)

The product is "PowerA Pro Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - Pikachu"
The device shows under lsusb as "BDA NSW Enhanced Wireless Controller Rechargeable". device / pid is 20d6:0002

My steam devices list in "60-steam-input.rules" looks like it's up-to-date, but that "0002" usb ID is not accounted for in the list. My attempts to add it have been unsuccessful

This is similar to issue #7644 regarding a PowerA xbox controller

Update: the controller no longer appears as anything when plugged in

Nothing extracted yet.
