Ran into something similar with my system.
Tried to suspend the system from Big Picture Mode. Screen went black, but PC itself never went to sleep and failed to respond when I tried to wake it again.

hello, seems like steam (in big picture mode) does crash everytime the computer enters sleep mode
i'm on fedora workstation 37, and this is a terminal output for the crash, it may be relevant
