Steam client version (build number or date): 1674871341 (Jan 28 01:40 UTC)
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Debian 11
Opted into Steam client beta?: yes
Have you checked for system updates?: yes
Steps to reproduce
Pair a Bluetooth PS4 or PS5 controller (same issue might exist with Steam or Xbox controller, not tested)
Run in New Big Picture mode (-gamepadui)
Hold down guide button (Playstation logo) until hints for the "chord" commands appear in an overlay, with the rest of the UI darkened and blurred below the overlay
Keep holding the guide button until the controller switches off (this is necessary because Steam can't switch these controllers off itself, e.g. via guide button + triangle, which is a separate issue: #8678)
Expected result
Either the overlay should disappear automatically when there is no controller connected, or it should be possible to close it by pressing Escape or similar.
Actual result
The overlay continues to be shown after the controller has disconnected, and I can't find a way to dismiss it with keyboard/mouse. Keyboard and mouse inputs continue to be handled by the normal UI "below" the overlay, but because of the blur effect, I can't see what I'm clicking on, and have to rely on memory or Alt+F4 to exit from Steam.
