Steam client crashes when using the Settings > Controller > Pick a controller from the bottom > Define Layout window.

Tried on both a knock-off ps3 controller and a Jess tech recoil gamepad.

Also tested with these on steam deck in desktop mode and did not get the crash there strangely.

When it crashes terminal that launched steam from says this:

Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Launch Steam
  2. Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > Pick a Detected Controller > Define Layout
  3. Press some buttons on the gamepad, or sometimes crashes immediately when showing the Define Layout window.

Hello @jpwhiting, this issue is already being tracked at #8977. We're waiting on Arch package maintainers to bump lib32-libx11 to 1.8.4 before re-evaluating this issue.
