I can confirm this can be reproduced on the Steam Deck.
To replicate:
Press the STEAM button, select Friends & Chat and press the Sandwich button: the same exact error reference is given.

I'm on the beta release and also have this issue on Steam Deck and it's reproducible.
Reproducible on my Deck (stable).
It's broken on stable beta and preview on the steam deck I have 2 512 models and it's the same on both.
Switching between builds doesn't fix the problem
