Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): latest stable (as of 2023-02-16)
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

  • It would be useful if we could select which DLCs are going to be installed with the game.
  • Explaining a bad situation related to the absence of such feature: if you are going to install Mortal Kombat 11 on the Steam Deck, the 4K videos DLC will be automatically installed together (that is more than 15Gb). Then you have to manually remove it later -> Longer download/installation time + unneeded writing to the disk

Given that some games have very large lists of DLC available, it's impractical to make a user go through a list of potentially hundreds of DLC options in the install prompt. Instead, let's treat this as a request for to add a single checkbox to install the base game with no DLC enabled and the user can then use the pre-existing DLC management options after the download of the base game starts.
