Edit: It seems that the Steam setting check box for Steam play to allow proton on non-steam games is getting reset any time you set an application. I was able to re-enable this check to make a change again, but it only works once and you have to do it each time you change Proton version on a non-steam game.

One cannot check or uncheck the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" option in a game's properties after it has launched or has been closed -- requires the client to be restarted. Happens in both Beta and Stable releases.
#### Steps for reproducing this issue:
Box appears "grey" and cannot be changed.
