Steam client version (build number or date): beta mar 18 2023 (20:30:17) / mar 17 2023 (18:27)
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): EndeavourOS
Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] doesn't matter which
Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
my dualsense light bar color is set to steam purple, so whenever steam input is on it will be purple otherwise if steam input is disabled its going to be blue.
basically disabling steam input is not working, the only way to entirely disable steam input is to disable both controller support on steam controller settings and steam input.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
with a dualsense connected via usb, disable steam input on any game, on the controller configuration options set the light bar color to any distinct color other than blue for testing purposes.
launch the game, the controller light bar should briefly change to the default blue color, indicating that steam input is disabled but as soon as the game launches the light bar color will change to your customized color...
although the virtual xbox interface created by steam input is not active at this point, steam input is still somehow interfering with the dualsense, in games like RoTTR, which sees my dualsense as a dualshock 4 on windows with steam input disabled, but nothing on linux.
