Steam thinks Proton 8 (but no other version) is not available for my system.

Tried Steam in terminal and installing it manually via web url and terminal didn't really give any extra info I could see:

As far as I know, installing something doesn't check for system details and never has apart from the platform. This is specifically it thinking it's not available to download.

Forcing the Steam Linux Runtime does allow it to download, which is odd.
