Hello @v38armageddon, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

Can you check if steamwebhelper.log, webhelper.txt, or cef_log.txt in ~/.local/share/Steam/logs/ has any hints?

I'm facing the same issue. Even clicking the refresh button would show a black screen with no new logs showing on any of those files. Going to the library and then to the store page, it started working again

Hello @kisak-valve,

Here's my system information: https://gist.github.com/v38armageddon/ea99bad56d55ecbd35f448755c047772

I check the steamwebhelper.log, webhelper.txt and cef_log.txt and I saw a lot of X errors (I'm using X11 with NVIDIA Proprietary drivers)

Having the same issue with @alosarjos

Same issue. Very annoying.

Even after steam client beta update of "May 12th"

Hhasezoey 2023-05-15 github

i have the same issue, though i have noticed that when having the steam client minimized to systemtray (no window open) and then going directly to the Store instead of Library, it will always result in a blank page, and however often i reload the page it stays blank, and switching to any other page than Library results in the same, once switching to Library the library loads and then switching back to Store it will also load

in addition to the blank pages, i sometimes just cannot click anywhere in the pages themself until i go back to Library and back to the page again as if a overlay is intercepting all the inputs

KDE plasma wayland

Not sure if this was happening before todays update or not, but I can reproduce 100% if I maximize the Steam client window by resizing the window with the OS controls (In the case of Gnome, by using Windows Key + Arrow Up or Arrow Down)

Hhajosattila 2023-05-22 github

Latest beta fixed this issue :)

Hhasezoey 2023-05-22 github

seems to be fixed for me too

version 1684535786

EDIT: the main issue seems fixed to me, though also resizing gives a black screen until going to Library again

Aalosarjos 2023-05-22 github

I can reproduce it when changing window size using DE shortcuts

Fflorian-at-v38armageddon 2023-05-23 github

As @hasezoey said now with the 1684535786 update I can now navigate throw pages without clicking on "Library" tabs. However, as @alosarjos when changing the window size the web browser is black and I need to navigate to the "Library" tabs and go to another tabs to redisplay the content.

Still occuring under the latest stable

Ppm4rcin 2023-06-15 github

To add more details. I use Fedora Sericea (sway ostree) with Steam Flatpak, AMD iGPU. When I press modkey (windows logo) + f to maximize it the screen turns black. Also when pressing the same combination to "unmaximize" it turns black too. When it is resized with tiling there's no problem only when above combination is clicked. It can be "fixed" by going to library page as others described but ALSO by clicking the download manager button or clicking on "Add game" and then "Activate product on Steam" (with the key). It's present on today's stable update.

same problem for me with the latest release of steam client beta july 5th using nvidia and kde. minimizing cause store and any tab except library not to load but switching to library and back will fix this temporarily.

Steam Stable sometimes also happens to me, just blank. I have to restart steam (or prefferably restart the system) to make it work again.

Other issues is that dropdowns do not hide when stopping hovering on them.

And downloads tab is completely freezed, doesn't show download status, i have to restart steam to fix that one.

Closing as fixed in the 2023-09-11 Steam client update.

If there's any look-alike issues, they should be tracked separately.

I can't find any mention in the release notes you've linked. I've checked that I have newest stable client and the problem still persists as I described in above comment.

i am on steam version 1694826162 and after resizing (on anything other than Library, like Store), it still stays black until going to "Library" still exists (as mentioned in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/9467#issuecomment-1556842672), though i dont know if this is a separate issue
(Wayland, running steam through xwayland)

Hello @hasezoey, looks like that issue is being tracked at #9375 (and possibly elsewhere as well).
