Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1683314987
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): SteamOS
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

On the latest Steam Client Beta build Remote Play Toghether is broken as a client connecting to a friend, at least from Steam Deck to Windows PC (to a remote client, haven't tested locally). As soon as you accept the invite it will try to start the game and immediately bail out. The only fix for me was downgrading back to Steam Client Stable and the feature was back working as expected.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Switch to Steam Deck Beta
  2. Start a Remote Play Toghether session as a client from a remote PC.
  3. See it fails instead of opening the game.

I've not encountered any issues connecting to Windows 11 host from a Steam Deck (3.7.13 and Stable Steam) via Remote Play Together (A Hat In Time).

@RodoMa92 Would you be able to confirm if this issue is still affecting you on the latest stable SteamOS / Steam release?

Yeah, this is probably fixed as of now. Closing.
