After removing some ancient proton versions in the steam>settings>storage menu, and restarting steam, i see that in 'force compatibility' all of the deleted proton versions are still listed.
If I intentionally select a version that I have removed the game will still accept it, and continue to setup and attempt to launch. I have no idea what proton it is using, presumably whatever I have set as global default, however:

  1. there is no indication whatsoever that another proton is being used.
  2. why are the removed versions even still in the menu?

Hello @BETLOG, the list of available Steam Play compatibility tools is managed by the Steam client, not Proton itself, so I've transferred this issue report to the steam-for-linux issue tracker.

Nothing extracted yet.
