@kisak-valve This might be related to an issue I have been having regularly on the Steam Deck since it has released. I am surprised that not many people have noticed it. It's simple to replicate
Step 1: Turn off your Steam Deck like normal with it in "online mode"
Step 2: Go out of range of your wifi network (A friends house perhaps?)
Step 3: Connect to your friend's wifi network
Step 4: Start a game that requires online authentication via steam (It will fail)
Step 5: Restart steam to allow steam to fully connect to online mode.
Step 6: Now you can finally play your games
You will run into this issue on the desktop as well if you have an unstable internet connection. It doesn't matter what the reason is, if Steam starts in a way where the network is not available and Steam is not in "offline" mode, when the internet comes back you will not be able to play certain games, or use some of the friend's features, until you restart steam.

I've been doing a Terraria playthrough with a friend and I taught them how to opt into the Steam beta so they could experience the new Steam UI before it had officially released. They occasionally experienced an issue where they were online from their perspective, but appeared offline from mine. After the new UI was pushed to Stable I upgraded and I began to experience the same exact issue, I sometimes appear offline from my friend's perspective despite definitely showing as online from mine. We discovered the quick fix for this issue was to flip between invisible and online.
We should have shown as online for others if we're online from our perspective.
