Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible: I downloaded steam, and when I try and open it, it just gives a black window. Sometimes it flickers to the login page, but I cant input anything. This also happens when launching steam from a terminal

Hey, I'm having the same issue too except it doesn't even give me a black screen. I think yours has something to do with X authorization not being permitted. I hope someone goes around and helps us out.

Just wanted to reply tho just to make sure you don't feel like you're the only one.

Just an addition it might have something to do with .Xauthority and .ICEauthority because when I deleted those two from root. I managed to get to steam to properly start up on my end. However, its still "invisible" but i can access settings, friends, etc etc but the main steam screen is invisible minus stuff like Home Collections etc etc.
