Hello @Ezuharad, since the majority of your issue report focuses on the web component of Steam, (either in the Steam client or the Steam overlay), I've transferred this issue report to the steam-for-linux issue tracker.
Update on the issue:
Just ran into the same system freeze playing Disco Elysium, which is notable as it isn't a super graphically intensive game (although I ran it as PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% instead of with prime-run). I will see if I can replicate the error with Disco Elysium and obtain logs.
Other notable trait I forgot to mention is that the error does not occur when a game is running in windowed mode.
Going back through old issues I've made, and I can say this is no longer happening to me. If I recall correctly this would have stopped around the time I started using Wayland on Arch Linux, but it is possible I'm misremembering when the problems ceased.
Current Wayland Version: 1.23.1-1
Linux Version: 6.10.10
Closing the issue now
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1x1 2023-07PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%x1 2023-07prime-run %command%x1 2023-07
Oftentimes when running slightly more demanding games (Deep Rock Galactic, Age of Empires II DE, Risk of Rain 2) the entire computer will freeze, leaving only the mouse, audio, and SysReq keys still operable.
Most of these games are ran with
prime-run %command%as the launch options.I certify I saw no other similar reports in this repository.
