Ancient versions of Source allocate textures until they cant anymore to determine vram. There are a few games where we have a workaround for that. I'm not applying it for Half-Life 2 because it hasn't done that for 14 years.
Can you somehow limit the amount of vram visible for the game to make it not waste all memory ?
You can, we do it for Vampire: The Masquerade. https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/blob/master/src/util/config/config.cpp#L344
Thanks, that worked (i rebuild dxvk). Fonts are still corrupted though. Interesting...
The fonts are fine on Windows, DXVK isnt the problem.
Nothing extracted yet.
Hi. The retail version of Half-Life 2 crashes while using DXVK. Sometimes the whole computer hangs. I've used normal wine + dxvk as well as some of the wine bundles like wine-ge in several versions, same result every time.
With wined3d everything plays and looks ok except the fonts are a bit corrupted: https://i.imgur.com/Z3anJaV.png
Here's a video on how to get this build of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNd5Gdt3xYE
