This is a Wine limitation.
Wine should print something like this in the terminal:
Application requires child window rendering, which is not implemented yet!
Help me understand. I'm running wine-tkg-git, which includes a workaround for child windows. How come, the game launches fine without DXVK in windowed mode? How come I was running Wine 6.23 and all was good?
How come, the game launches fine without DXVK
It's not a problem with OpenGL.
No. No problems whatsoever. Launches fine in windowed or full screen with OpenGL.
EDIT:
Oops. Didn't see the period. Okay. It's a Vulkan thing then. I wonder why it worked fine with Wine 6.23? They must have broke something, I guess.
Nothing extracted yet.
I can't get Oblivion to launch in windowed mode with DXVK active. I am running Wine 7.0 with child window support. Oblivion launches fine (with DXVK) in fullscreen mode. It also launches fine in fullscreen and windowed mode without DXVK. I did not have this problem with Wine 6.2 (my last build).
I am on Mint 20.3., have a GTX 1080, and am launching via Lutris.
