hello everyone, I have a pretty big problem and that is that when I run my gta 4 with dxvk with the shadows set very high the game runs at about 40-45 FPS or less, but if I set the shadows to high it works for me at 80 FPS or more.
In general, the problem only lies in the shadows being very high, nothing happens in the other options, it is very frustrating not being able to run with the shadows very high, because they look very bad for me and I need help
My PC:
Rx 570 4GB
Ryzen 5 3500
16GB Ram 3200Mhz
SSD m.2 480 Adata
Windows 10 PRO
I have a latest driver AMD Adrenalin 23.2.2 (WHQL Recommended)

Hello.

Please include logs and a apitrace.

I don't know what you're talking about brother, it's my first time on Github and I'm frustrated with this topic

And a couple of .log files should appear in the games folder. d3d9 and dxgi

How does it compare to the performance without dxvk

apparently the captures that I did not capture the msi afterburner but without dxvk with the shadows in very high it goes to about 70 FPS and in high about 80 FPS

Might be worth trying to downdate your drivers.
I've seen at least 1 report of degraded Vulkan performance in the new ones.

I will also say that your performance with the native d3d9 doesn't seem that bad? So I'm not sure I understand why it's important for you to try dxvk?

I have the latest drivers, and if I want to use dxvk it's because of the stability it has in the game, anyway I don't know what to do anymore I think I'll uninstall it and give up

I meant install older drivers

Not even the AMD native D3D9 driver can handle this game at 60 FPS with the settings you are pushing for according to this video

Theres nothing that DXVK can do to help, lower the settings, the heaviest ones are Shadows at Very High, View Distance and Detail Distance.

Avoid looking at recent comparisons, since W10 is a dumpster fire as far as d3d9 performance is concerned.
With this said, I feel like draw and detail distance are more important to framerate than shadow quality.

Very high shadows have quadruple the resolution of high ones and slighty better cascade settings, they have always been a performance nightmare even on D3D9 on high end gpus. I recall not being able to max them at 1080p on a gtx 1080 but dropping to high halved gpu usage.

Stick to high or if you really need very high due to the better cascades which allow more accurate shadow placement and on more objects(like car parts), install ZMenu on 1.0.7.0 which lets you set a custom shadow resolution(do it on the ini) but needs reapplying the shadow setting on each startup.

Nothing extracted yet.
