Hello, I'm stating this issue here because i couldn't get help in reshade forums.
I've been basically using DXVK with The Sims 3, decided to install reshade but it halves down my fps.
I've done the casual installation and reshade does load up fine but won't get past 24fps while D3D9 with reshade reaching >100 even though i don't think it's a performance related issue.

Software information

The Sims 3, Reshade

System information

  • GPU: RX6600XT
  • Driver: 24.4.1, Latest
  • OS version: Windows 11
  • DXVK version: Latest

Are you using the D3D9 or Vulkan version of ReShade?

Vulkan. It doesn't work when D3D9 is enabled since the DLLs would probably be clashing.

It actually seems to be locking the fps or something? It won't get past 28fps.

I also realized it runs fine in fullscreen. Does it think i'm alt tabbing maybe?

Does this build make a difference https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/actions/runs/9032636630

Nope unfortunately. DXVK also runs fine without reshade btw.

Try using ReShade's performance mode and also turn off loading of disabled effects.

This sounds more like a ReShade issue than a DXVK one.

I use ReShade on 2 Unreal Engine games and they don't seem to impact my performance at all. I use only a few effects, though (~8). I'm on Linux.

Reshade will half your fps, no matter what. Can't do anything about it.

We've (the Reshade team) have not been able to reproduce this.

Running Reshade on top of DXVK results in a tiny and predictable performance hit. Not a huge one.

I think it's safe to say this is a system/user issue rather than a DXVK issue.

Hi, so I lost my previous account i typed this in, but this is my issue.

Here's a breakdown:

Low FPS even with no ReShade effects enabled.
Performance is normal in fullscreen mode.
Acts like an automatic FPS limit being applied in the game window, sort of like when you alt-tab.
Disabling edge scrolling in in game setting is fixing the issue.

Verified no global FPS limit is set in ReShade configuration.
Tested with and without pre-made ReShade presets.
Confirmed no in-game FPS limiters are enabled.

@riperwive Is this still an issue to this day?

utilizando Cemu juego al Zelda BOTW a 80fps estables pero instalando el ReShade ya me baja a la mitad o menos, sin activar ningun efecto

I got the same issue.

Disabled ReShade: 144(VSync)- ~50fps(depend on what happent ingame)
Enable Reshade(with and without any "effects"): up to ~40fps and 99% GPU load(high temp and the fans are screw up like hell), in every scene.

The game is Vanilla WoW with DXVK.
CPU: R7 5800 X3D
GPU: RTX 4700S

ReShade off:

ReShade on:

The game scene is the login screen.

If I use ReShade without dxvk, in dx9 mode(and yes, also installed for that) I have a minor fps drop and it depend heavy on the effect I enable.

This is more likely to be a Reshade problem.

Nothing extracted yet.
