Game.exe

Crashes instantly when trying to run Mafia with DXVK 2.4 under Windows 10

I used d3d8.dll and dxgi.dll from the 32 bit folder

Not even a log file gets created.

On the other hand. The game runs flawlessly with the latest ### d8vk-v1.0 https://github.com/AlpyneDreams/d8vk/releases/tag/d8vk-v1.0

which I thought is now fully merged into DXVK 2.4?

For d3d8 games you have to use d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll as the formers implementation is dependent on the latter

As @Blisto91 mentioned, we're no longer statically linking d3d9 code inside d3d8.dll, as we did for d8vk 1.0. So you'll need to use both d3d8.dll and d3d9.dll from dxvk 2.4, otherwise the d3d8 code will try to load the native (Windows) d3d9.dll and crash.
