Linux drivers are only available up to 396.18 on NVidia's website. The driver "rule" should probably take in to account driver differences on Linux and Windows.

I also question whether or not the 396.24.0.2 minimum is necessary. I can neither find this version of the driver for windows, nor can I find detailed information about what was changed.
