I have problems with flickering textures, textures not loading in and bugs with the lighting engine and shadows in Battle for Middle-Earth 2, Rise of the Witch-King (AotR Mod).

Depending on the graphical settings ingame I experience either:

  • next to no problems at all (ultra high settings)
  • lots of flickering textures, textures not loading in, bugging shadows etc. (lower graphical settings)

Because the Sage-Engine is fairly outdated and can not keep up with the game (especially with more players and lots going on) it is not possible to just always crank the settings to the max to not experience any problems with glitches and stuff.

Maybe somebody here can figure out why this happens.

Here you can see big black rectangles where the smoke vfx should be (minor problem for me)

Try the latest master version, this is probably already fixed.

That's the latest release. The latest development version is https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/actions/runs/12612108394

Could you explain where exactly do I get the .dll I need from the link you shared? You might have to explain it for dummies. On first glance the folder structure seems different than what I downloaded as "release-version".

The text dxvk-master-9a244e8951ca955eba6898b82a6a36d01db0728ddownloads a archive that you use like a regular release. The dll you need for this game is in x32 and the rest can be ignored

If I remember well this happened to me and fixed it by setting up 30 fps limit

Should be fixed in 2.5.3

Nothing extracted yet.
