This is likely the usual known AMD Windows driver problem that maybe just changed behavior in a few games with the swapchain work in 2.6. The below is spammed in both logs.
err: D3D9SwapChainEx: Failed to recreate swap chain: -13
Not aware of any other driver on Linux or Windows having the issue. The cause is not known
If it's of any relevance on the same system and same drivers 2.6.1 works just fine with Dead Space (the original) and Far Cry
Yeah, we have no clue what causes this problem other than that it's most likely some driver bug.

I installed Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition from Steam and followed the recommendations to install DXVK to improve performances and stability.
I installed the latest 2.6.1 version first which resulted in a black screen so on a hunch I tried earlier versions, 2.6.0 first which also had the same issue and then the 2.5.3 which seems to work fine.
