There is microstuttering quite often with Hitman Contracts. Stuttering without dropping frames. Since it's a d3d8 game, I assume there's no commands to add to dxvk.conf like d3d9.maxFrameLatency = 1.

Hitman Contracts is, by d3d8 standards at least, a shader heavy game, so you're seeing shader compilation stutters. They should go away on replay of the same levels. That being said, it might also be one of the games impacted by #3534, in which case a solution isn't really straight forward.

The starting level feels smooth to me, but admittedly I have not played the game that much.

Since it's a d3d8 game, I assume there's no commands to add to dxvk.conf like d3d9.maxFrameLatency = 1.

d3d9 config options will work with d3d8 games actually, so you can very well use this if you want to.

Completed the first level and played a bit of the second. The game ran very well had no stutters on my system.
Running on max settings.

@ZT-1 Is this still an issue for you? I haven't been able to reproduce any stuttering with the game, micro or otherwise, except for maybe some minor load-in lag here and there.
