I'm experiencing massive stuttering in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion when using DXVK, despite applying all known stutter-fix mods and patches. The game runs perfectly on Windows, but the DXVK experience is horrible.

Does the stutter stop if you use wined3d?

I just ran around a bit in the game and it ran at a locked 144fps (vsynced to my monitor). There were some minor spikes up to 16ms but they aren't caused by DXVK.

Besides that, there's some very rare stutter caused by shader compilation but that's entirely because the game doesn't give the D3D9 driver (in this case DXVK) enough time to process a shader before using it.

Is the stuttering especially bad at a particular location in the game? If so, can you provide a save?

No same atrocity.

This is my save game. Just look around with the camera and I hope you will see what I am talking about.

I loaded your safe and it runs just like it did for mat the other save I tested earlier. Locked 144hz with some occasional 16ms stutters (which I mostly just notice because of the DXVK frame time graph).

In my case stay runs ok (gog version without mods)

and test with save file and run ok too in my case

I tried it on the Steam Deck as well (my save file immediately after leaving the dungeon/sewers) and it runs pretty much flawlessly.

Besides that, if it also stutters with WineD3D, it's almost certainly not a DXVK issue either way.
