I'm not sure if the issue has something to do with DXVK, but here's a bug report.
Running on Pop_OS 24.04 using COSMIC DE, PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 because Ubisoft Launcher refuses to work otherwise.
The problem is: Far Cry 4 hangs while loading, when the "little wheel" is spinning.

UPDATE: Using
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1fixes the issue, meaning this is either a MESA bug or a DXVK bug
