Ok actually the game is now launching and I can see the game running on my monitor (I am able to see my game running in the VR window and the VR controls work) however all I see is blackness on the VR.
VR cannot work on Windows since the VR libraries would need to interop with DXVK. This is a Proton-only thing.
Can this ever be patched?
It's not possible without changes to OpenVR and that's outside of our control.
Nothing extracted yet.
I find that Subnautica runs much faster through Vulkan, and I get the biggest performance hit in VR. I am on Windows trying to launch Subnautica with SteamVR with the launch option -vrmode openvr to allow the SubmersedVR mod to run. However it seems that DXVK is not compatible with OpenVR on Windows? Steam launches it and SteamVR runs but the game never launches. It just hangs forever. Does anyone have any insight on this?
