Been trying to get it to recognize my graphics cards for weeks

I have been trying to get dxvk to run for a while now, to no avail. I keep getting "no adapter found" errors. Native Linux games run fine. Running through OpenGL runs fine.

Vulkan refuses to work. I run 2 Nvidia GTX 1070s, I've tried using the UUIDs of the devices, I've tried using the names, I've tried no filters at all. It simply refuses to see my graphics cards and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I am on Ubuntu, and had the same issue with Pop-OS before, but managed a work around I have been unable to repeat or figure out on Ubuntu.

I am desperate for help at this point and search engines have been largely useless.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've even used the Vulkan benchmark on Linux and it works fine.

If needed, I can run a game and send the log.

Please post a log yes.
Do you have 32bit drivers installed?

Please post a log yes. Do you have 32bit drivers installed?

I am actually unsure how to check if I have the 32bit ones installed. I'm assuming not, but I could be wrong. I used the Nvidia 535 proprietary drivers. Posting log in a moment.

nvidia 535 series is too old for recent DXVK, update to 580 series.

That is not my issue, as not only do none of them install at all, it doesn't recognize any graphics card on any version, and I am using steam and proton. Additionally, I can't just update to 580, GTX 1070 cards don't support 580

Yes, it is your issue. Yes, Pascal GPUs are supported by 580, just not 590 onwards.

Current DXVK just isn't going to run on three-year old drivers.

580 doesn't work well on 1070s. And I tried upgrading past 535, It wouldn't even load X11 or Wayland. I had to reinstall the entire OS because it kept getting messed up. And all the older versions of DXVK also refuse to install. So updating my drivers is not an option, I need to get an older version to recognize my graphics card.

Additionally, my driver version supposedly supports maintenance5.

That's the first time I'm hearing about problems with 580 and Pascal, seems fine for pretty much everyone else. You can post another log with nvidia 535 and older DXVK 2.5.x or something, but no amount of trying or screenshot posting is going to make recent DXVK run on nvidia 535.

That is not your driver version, that's an old beta driver with a different feature set.

If you're incapable of installing anything newer than 535 on your system for whatever reason then fair enough I guess, but that's not our problem and you should just stick to DXVK 2.5-.

Not sure where the mindset that 2026 software should run on 2023 drivers is coming from, you wouldn't do that on Windows either.

And why wouldn't you? God I hate this community. I'll figure this out myself. Have fun in your own little world that's disconnected from the rest of ours. I asked for help installing an older version because they don't recognize my card either and now I'm getting more elitist attitude. Bye forever.

Getting a log from something like Proton 9 might be interesting.
It is also possible to overwrite the dxvk included in newer Proton releases if that is what you want

Edit: Proton 10 stable should be fine too

Nothing extracted yet.
