Hi there.
Please attach a Proton log and if possible make an apitrace.
Why is it needed to run the game with 2.7.1 instead of what ships with Proton?
Seems to be an issue with Wine's d3dcompiler_42, so a native version of that should fix it for you.
Optionally you may or may not need to delete games shader cache in your prefix drive_c/ProgramData/Blizzard Entertainment/StarCraft II/
I have a very similar issue in StarCraft II on Linux.
The problem occurs in the Arcade map "Random Tower Defense", where some objects/elements appear as solid red squares/rectangles instead of rendering correctly.
System:
The red artifacts occur with Proton 9, 10, and 11.5, so this does not appear to be specific to Proton 11.5.
I have attached a screenshot showing the issue.
This seems potentially related to the custom-map rendering/texture issue described in this report. Is there any additional information or testing that would help determine whether this is a DXVK/NVIDIA driver issue?
Thank you.
Did you try installing Microsofts d3dcompiler_42.dll? According to Blisto that's the problem here, not DXVK.

System Information:
OS: Garuda Linux (Arch-based)
Kernel: 7.0.3-zen1-2-zen
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060
Driver: 595.71.05 (nvidia-open-dkms)
Proton: Proton 11
DXVK: 2.7.1 (manually installed)
Display Server: Wayland
Game: StarCraft II (via Battle.net launcher under Steam/Proton)
Description:
Custom map assets in StarCraft II render as solid red textures or red particles instead of their correct appearance. The issue affects custom maps with user-created assets (confirmed with the map "Mines & Magic"). Standard SC2 assets appear unaffected.
Steps to reproduce:
Launch StarCraft II via Proton 11 / DXVK 2.7.1
Start a custom map with custom assets (e.g. "Mines & Magic")
Observe red textures replacing transparent/alpha areas and custom model textures
What I tried:
Installed d3dcompiler_47 via protontricks → partial improvement
Deleted userCache.bin shader cache repeatedly → no change
Tested DXVK_ASYNC=1 → no change
Tested PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 → fixes red textures but breaks keyboard input
Downgrade to driver 575.x blocked by garuda-hardware-profile-nvidia dependency (requires >= 590)
Expected behavior: Custom assets render correctly as they do on Windows and did previously on older NVIDIA drivers.
Additional context: This appears to be a regression introduced with the NVIDIA 595.x driver series. The issue matches reports from other users: https://old.reddit.com/r/wine_gaming/comments/1dgvzup/custom_assets_in_starcraft_2_are_red_on_my_nixos/
