Does it work on any DXVK build before dxbc-spirv was enabled?
This game is basically impossible for us to work with given that literally none of our usual debug tools work, so we either need to find a different game that runs into the same issue or at least narrow down the regression enough that we can make random guesses and maybe end up with a fix, but I can't promise that this shitshow will work properly in 3.0 at this point.
@doitsujin what version of DXVK would you want me to test with? Not sure which version SPIR-V was rolled out but I can try testing it. I know this game is pretty much broken, but hopefully we find a solution.
So far the most stable Proton build for Sims 2 for me as far as graphics go is GE-Proton-10-15, which is I believe using DXVK v2.7-46-gbcb0abd. Most of the issues started during 2.7.1 series
Confirmed it is from dxbc-spirv.
Renderdocs with and without it enabled on a RTX 4080: https://drive.proton.me/urls/NA9GX1NT28#7hdh31EiSWkC
Should work now hopefully maybe.
Thanks! Will test it out in the latest Proton Experimental bleeding edge and will get back with findings.
Working perfectly on the latest Proton Experimental bleeding edge. Thank you so much!

Coming in with another Sims 2 bug.
Getting some weird issues with sims with the latest versions of DXVK. The photos have mods in them but I verified this to persist even in a vanilla game. Note the seam on the neck on both the sim itself and the thumbnail and the outfit seems to be just darker all throughout.
It happens to all outfits but some seem worse hit than others, usually those with some kind of transparency on them
On Proton Experimental:

On Proton 10:
