I have a very similar issue in StarCraft II on Linux.

The problem occurs in the Arcade map "Random Tower Defense", where some objects/elements appear as solid red squares/rectangles instead of rendering correctly.

System:

Image
  • OS: Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon 64-bit
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
  • NVIDIA driver: 595.84
  • Proton: Proton 9, Proton 10, and Proton 11.5
  • Game: StarCraft II
  • Map: Random Tower Defense

The red artifacts occur with Proton 9, 10, and 11.5, so this does not appear to be specific to Proton 11.5.

I have attached a screenshot showing the issue.

This seems potentially related to the custom-map rendering/texture issue described in this report. Is there any additional information or testing that would help determine whether this is a DXVK/NVIDIA driver issue?

Thank you.

Hi, first of all: what do you mean by 'very similar'? Very similar to what?

Please upload the log file that DXVK creates and make an apitrace. You can find a guide on how to do that in our wiki.
If you're playing around with mods or custom maps, that apitrace would make it much easier for us to look into this.

I'm not very good at English and I'm not good with computers.

I also found several additional issues while playing StarCraft II on Linux with Proton:

  1. Control group camera jump does not work correctly
If a unit is assigned to control group 1, pressing 11 should select the control group and move the camera to its location. On Linux/Proton, the control group is selected but the camera does not move to the unit's location. Pressing Space is required to move the camera there.

  2. Korean text input can be delayed by one character
When typing Korean in StarCraft II, the input sometimes appears one character behind. The text is not entered correctly in real time.

  3. Keyboard shortcuts do not work while Korean IME input is active
When the Korean input mode is enabled, some keyboard shortcuts stop working completely. Switching back to English input makes the shortcuts work again.

These appear to be separate from the red square rendering issue. I found all of these while testing StarCraft II on Linux with Proton.
