When using DXVK 3.1.1, the game exhibits some rendering issues as shown in the video below:

Using DXVK 2.7.1:

Notes

  • It only happens indoors, I used view mode because it's the fastest way to show it. But for example, in the opening scenes where Estelle wakes up, this bug happens in the bedroom.
  • I tested with version 3.1.0 and ran into the same problem as well.
  • Proton 11 stable and experimental also exhibited the same behavior.

Thank you for the report. Are you able to make a apitrace?

Thank you for the report. Are you able to make a apitrace?

I tried, but the game closes right after I open it 😞

Something about this screams Nvidia driver regression, I did some testing with the demo on 610.57 and that was working fine.

Edit: Still works fine with 615 on my 4070, unless this only happens in specific places. The Bright home also renders fine in Sky FC here.

yeah, works perfectly fine here. Probably some Blackwell-exclusive driver issue.

Thank you for taking the time to test it. I'll try to downgrade to 610.57 or 590 branch later.

I've run the opening scene on dual gpu setup (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090): there are many flickering artifacts indoors when using 5090, and on 4090 there are no visible artifacts, so it is look like a Blackwell-exclusive thing.

Apitrace file(s)

Tried collecting trace files, but the game crashes on boot with hooked Apitrace dlls.

Should be reported to Nvidia then

Same thing on Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.

RTX 5090, NVIDIA 615.71.09, Fedora 44 / KDE Wayland, GE-Proton11-7 (DXVK
3.1-19-g60193094).

I tried the two new 3.x paths separately:

  • dxvk.enableUnifiedImageLayouts = False → still broken
  • dxvk.enableDescriptorHeap = False → fixed

So descriptor heap alone looks like the culprit here; with just that one line
DXVK 3.1 runs clean.
