When i use that command PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% ythe game runs normal with 40fps
Whenn i remove command i get a pure black screen can hear the game in the background working normal just cant see anything

It can a be a DXVK problem with MKX or prob Drivers not sure but i read around for solutions so i brought it back up

Sorry im not so good in the linux department but its one of the games i play a lot but it works so good at work on a gtx 1050 ti LP but not at home with my RX 480

Please help
Ubuntu 18 with Kernel 4.18

People have played this game in the past with DXVK. Does it work with 0.72?

Please attach at least log files. When using Proton, you have to enable DXVK logging, put the following into steamapps/common/Proton\ 3.7/user_settings.py:

user_settings = {
   "DXVK_LOG_LEVEL": "debug",
}

Hi,

i just tried the game with proton and latest dxvk-master and it is working fine here on my nvidia gtx 970 with 356.54.06 drivers.

I also tried it with the proton delivered dxvk (0.70) and it also works fine.

Cu,
Christian

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

yes it works on a GTX 1050 TI as i said before
But not my RX 480 as i stated :P

A stupid question but , can you run any other game with DXVK on your RX480?

Or any native Vulkan game ( Doom 2016 , RoTR etc ) ?

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

I did all work but just mkx AMD giving problems just a pure black screen with sound I tried many dxvk version but it's weird my gtx 1050 to can't play tekken 7 on high graphic but my Rx 480 plays it very nice maybe I'll buy a 1060 gtx

LLeopard1907 2018-09-25 github

I don't think that is related to your gpu , rather than sounds like a setup issue.

Maybe DE doing something awkward?

On Nvidia , which driver version you used?

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

I used 18.1.5 giving me best results with rise of tomb raider and I'm retrying 18.3 mesa now to redo performance check

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

18.3 give a black screen also

LLeopard1907 2018-09-25 github

1-) Rise of The Tomb Raider has a native Linux port and have nothing to do with DXVK.

2-) Do these:

sudo apt install inxi

inxi -SMGxx

and post output to here.

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

Was just using tomb raider to test the performance of the driver

Everything looks normal.

Looks like that is a common problem on AMD cards.

Order a GTX 1060 :P

Mmassatt212 2018-09-25 github

Not it's not cause wine dx11 works but the dxvk version doesn't

Mmassatt212 2018-09-26 github

So i tried on the DXVK on Windows on MKX with my RX480 and i saw green dots all over my screen

KK0bin maintainer 2018-09-26 github

The fact that WineD3D OpenGL works doesn't rule out bugs inAMD Vulkan drivers.

Mmassatt212 2018-09-26 github

Possible but amd has the best vuokan drivers but maybe he should take a lil look into it mkx is cheap on (censored) prob and used different tenqnuies cause their was an AMD bug on a mkx stage on release

KK0bin maintainer 2018-09-26 github

He can't look into it unless you provide log files and an apitrace.

how do i do that i been trying
Screen shot instructions something i really want to help

I'm getting this problem on a Nvidia GTX 770, so I don't think it is specific to AMD. I've tried disabling KDE desktop effects, using Cinnamon, windowed mode and fullscreen mode and it is always just a black screen, but I can hear the sounds in the background. DXVK overlay shows on the screen. Disabling DXVK and using WineD3D works (which is how I switch between windowed/fullscreen).

Either follow doitsujin's steps above, or in Steam set the launch options to "PROTON_LOG=1 %command%" and then look for the file steam-307780.log in your home folder.

I uploaded the logs and traces here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Sf-vph7DhLK2qCpcDayo4q7irZ2e50ac

Let me know when I can remove them

Sssorgatem 2018-09-27 github

I get the same result (black screen, working sound) when streaming with the Steam Overlay.
Maybe try disabling it?

Exact same problem here:
GTX 660 (driver 410.57) on arch.

Looks like the game is silly and resolves a subresource to itself. Please test if c9d61e16d9c9616543e43202a72714f6c554484e fixes the problem.

Looks like c9d61e1 fixes the issue when using wine. Thanks doitsujin.
