  I tried the game with Proton 8.0-3c and it loads fine on my machine. The slow exit bug (if that was supposedly fixed?) still exists for me however. It takes about ~30s for the game to close.

  This was working fine for me with Proton 6.3 but now I have audio issues with 7.0: this could be because of (currently) known bug in pipewire, which already has a fix in git.
