Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Tom Clancy's The Division 2
  • Steam AppID of the game: 2221490

System Information

  • GPU: AMD Radeon (RX 6700XT)
  • Video driver version: Mesa 26.2.2 (RADV)
  • Kernel version: Linux 7.2.7-ogc1.1.fc44.x86_64 Bazzite (Immutable Linux)
  • Proton version: Proton Experimental, Proton 9.0-3, GE-Proton 11-6, GE-Proton 11-7

I confirm:

  • [x] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

  1. The game launches, but disconnects upon server connection with the CHARLIE-03 error (EAC/EOS authentication timeout).
  2. Intermittent launch error: "Tom Clancy's The Division 2 must be launched from the anti-cheat system. EAC module failed to initialize."
  3. When prompted in-game with "Patch data updated. A game restart is required", the game closes but fails to auto-restart under Proton.

Reproduction

  1. Launch Tom Clancy's The Division 2 on Bazzite OS (secondary EXT4 NVMe).
  2. Proceed past the main title screen to connect to online servers.
  3. Observe the CHARLIE-03 error popup severing the session.

Troubleshooting Attempted

  • System drive format: Native EXT4 partition.
  • Repeatedly wiped compatdata/2221490 for clean prefix generation.
  • Verified integrity of Steam Linux Runtime 3.0 (Sniper) and Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime.
  • Tested launch variables: PROTON_USE_EAC_LINUX=1, PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME, and SteamDeck=1.
  • Mapped easyanticheat_x64.so manually into the EOS Settings.json deploymentid folder.
  • Network/Hardware baseline: The game connects and runs without issues on Windows on the exact same PC and local network, confirming a Linux/Proton EOS bridging regression.

Hello @djspyrowzr7, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6451#issuecomment-5940207641.
