Running on linux: <Link removed by moderator>
Not perfect way to make it running but works.
Hello @illusioon, the workaround in the video you posted is legally problematic and has been removed.
Would be nice if proton got it to work :\ Without "steam obscure.exe" achievements wont unlock :( I Tested every single proton none worked.
The only way i got it to work was "legally problematic".
Is there a solution to the problem yet? Is it already being worked on. It does not work on the Steam deck. But ObsCure 2 is compatible with the Steam deck.
@RyuSeisuke1992
I used dgVoodoo 2.79.3 by copying the DLLs from "MS/x86" into the game's folder and it worked.
The following should also help launching dgVoodoo.exe to remove the watermarks:
❯ STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH="$HOME/.local/share/Steam" \
STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/254460" \
"$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental/proton" \
run "/PATH/TO/dgVoodoo.exe"
There are some mirrors and archives for each version of dege's dgVoodoo releases scattered around the internet, for example: https://github.com/legluondunet/mlls-tools/raw/refs/heads/master/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2_79_3.zip, from https://github.com/legluondunet/mlls-tools/.
Running virustotal clears our some threats, but be careful.

Can u give me a short tutorial?
Sure:
dgVoodoo that is bellow 2.81.3, like 2.79.3 for instance (you can use the link I put in my previous comment if you want);MS/x86;/home/$USER/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Obscure (just right click on the game entry on Steam and click on "Search local files");Done.
There will be a watermark on the lower right corner, you can copy dgVoodoo.exe (extracted n step 2) into the game's folder and execute it using the game's prefix, like so:
STEAM_COMPAT_CLIENT_INSTALL_PATH="$HOME/.local/share/Steam" \
STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/254460" \
"$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental/proton" \ # if you use Proton Experimental, which is the default
run "/PATH/TO/dgVoodoo.exe"
This should launch the dgVoodoo settings; from there, you can navigate between tabs to find the keyword "watermark" and uncheck it and save.
I've played for about 2,5 hours, no issues/crashes. The native mapping for controllers works out of the box. Good game.
Amazing! It work! Thank u.
Can i improve the Graphic with this Tool. Has many graphic option?
I don't think so. From their website:
dgVoodoo2 is a set of implementation of old graphics API's for Windows 7 and later versions
So, I think it's like Proton in some ways: just an implementation layer of Window's graphics APIs for Linux, to make things work.
Honestly, the game is just good as-is. Maybe it's just me that has played enough of "last gen" games that I don't care that much about graphics anymore.

It creates a huge log file, just in a couple of seconds reached 200MB. It appears to be repeating infinitely the lines:
