With the last version of proton (4.11-10), and using the @berarma 's new Linux Logitech Wheels Driver (new-lg4ff) , the game has a good Force Feedback. Good Work!
The FFB needs to be set at -100 to work properly.
Proton 7 seems to have broken force feedback again. In my testing, using a Logitech G25 and the new-lg4ff driver, it doesn't work with any version higher than 6. With Proton 6 it works perfectly.
Automobilista and a couple other games by Reiza Studios, all based on the rFactor engine, suffer from the same problem. It has already been documented in issue #246

It works on Proton 9, and I think it also worked on Proton 8, I don't remember with Proton 7. Why not use a newer Proton?

Just went ahead and tried Proton 9 again. While you do get something in crashes, that's about it. No continuous force on steering, no vibration at speed with some cars that have it and absolutely nothing when going over grass/gravel. Zero road feel. Are you saying that you get the full ffb effects that one gets on Proton 6 or Windows on 7 or newer?
For me, on a fresh rFactor install without mods, it's a night and day difference. All I get on Proton 9 is something akin to console controller rumble on crashes.
I have global effects at 100, everything else at zero, except for autocenter at 10, as per Reiza Studios recommendation for my G25 wheel. I find that works well with rFactor based games.
@berarma It seems to be an issue with not only isiMotor2 (rFactor, Automobilista...) but also isiMotor games
It seems that FFB either doesn't work or only crash effects work and little else, if anything, that matching my experience with rFactor and the Reiza games. Those two engines power at least 30 games, most if not all of them being sims that can only be properly played with a wheel. I will try to test some of the Simbin titles in the next few days.
Are you sure that new-lg4ff is loaded?

I am. Just checked using dmesg and one of the lines reads: "Force feedback support for Logitech Gaming Wheels (0.5.0)"
I have also in the meanwhile tested the game GTR. While the others were isiMotor2 games this one was made on the original iteration. The result was more of the same in the sense that Proton 6 works perfectly. Different is the fact that versions 7 and up do somewhat work, better than the other games, but are still missing some effects. For instance, there's still no road feel at all. The car can be visibly shaking a lot and there's no feedback on the wheel. There's also no feedback when losing grip or right at the edge of it. With Proton 6 there is the proper amount of feedback, as Im used to on Windows.
Showing that something changed when it comes to ffb from 6 to 7, all these isiMotor games auto select inverted effects in their G25 preset. That works great in Proton 6. In 7 and up with this last game, GTR, it makes the wheel turn to the right or left until it reaches the lock instead of centering.
This doesn't happen with the IsiMotor2 games since those simply don't have any centering force at all when using Proton 7 and up.
@berarma I must correct something. All the games mentioned do not start with Proton 8, something that @leillo1975 had already documented. With Proton 7, 9, 10, the Proton versions after 6 that boot the game, it has the aforementioned FFB issues

Symptoms
The game works great if you activate D9VK (without d9vk the game works at very low framerate, you need to deactivate CSMT). Force Feedback is present but with some effects missing using Logitech wheel driver New-Lg4Ff because the game is affected by the force feedback bug of the 4.11-9 proton version.
