Symptoms

Upon launching the game, a variety of error windows appear. The mouse disappears as one hovers over them, are closed by pressing the enter key, and repeatedly appear until I reach the main menu. Starting a new game produces yet more error windows, and these continue appearing as the game loads until it finally crashes.
The error windows below are shown in the order they were presented on one launch, although most reappeared several times.

Reproduction

I have only tested this in Proton Experimental and 7.0-3, and on one computer, but it happens every time I attempt to play it. The error messages do not seem to appear in the same order when relaunched or especially upon starting a new game, even within the same Proton version, and one launch produced error messages with two or three letters appended to the end of several otherwise identical error messages.

Very strange. dxvk info logs also keep appearing again and again in your proton log

I don't think it's going to change anything but you try launching with the option below?

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Gave it a try, and it still produces the aforementioned error messages and crashes when the first level loads. That was worth a shot though, so thanks for the suggestion.
Here's a log of it running in WineD3D, not that I expect it'll be much more illuminating.
