Symptoms

I can navigate the main menu, create profiles, and change settings. After starting a game, there is a crash at the loading screen.

Reproduction

Start game, select a profile, then click on "Play" to start a game.

Hello @DerVerruckteFuchs, can you test if setting the game's launch options to PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% influences the game's behavior?

@kisak-valve I can get past the loading screen with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, and the game starts up fine. I only played for a few moments just to see if it would work. Will any further steam logs be needed?

I have not been able to reproduce this so far on my 7900xtx using same kernel version, mesa and experimental Proton. What are your graphics settings.
Does it also happen if you try at 1080p instead of 4k?

Game crashes after short (somewhat random) periods of time.
been trying to receive help or ideas on Reddit etc. for a while

Reproduction

Can sometimes force the crash by opening in-game menus, loading different maps or areas in the game world.
