I'm having trouble with the steps to add a Proton log--I added the launch option.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory used to work a while ago, but now the game won't launch. No error message is displayed--I click "Play", and after a moment, the button goes back to "Play". Even going through the Steam Library, as opposed to a launcher I created, the game doesn't run.
Hello @a1872, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy the contents of Steam Runtime Diagnostics from Steam (Steam -> Help -> Steam Runtime Diagnostics) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

I cannot find the proton log--I ran a search of the home directory for *.log and saw no returns. Chaos Theory is on an external drive, but I thought the log should appear in the home directory? What about navigating to the directory of Chaos Theory, then having that path opened in a terminal and typing "wine splintercell3.exe"--I did try this, but I got an error that I get from an unimportant game that I use Wine for, so I never really investigated the problem--but I really want this game to work and have copied the error here, as well as the command option entry screenshot.

The NVIDIA proprietary driver requires that the video driver's running kernel module, 32 bit userspace libraries, and 64 bit userspace libraries are all installed and exactly the same version to work properly. Your driver install is missing the 32 bit libraries.
Hi. Is there simply another driver I could go to to fix the missing 32-bit libraries problem?
It's not immediately obvious where you sourced your current driver install so I can't give exact instructions. If it was my system, I'd grab a different driver release series from a PPA like https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages?field.series_filter=jammy.
I installed the driver through Additional Drivers. There are a lot of different versions--535 through 595; is there one that is preferable? Or should I just use the PPA?

The game works fine for me - with the exception that the first game menu seems extremely sluggish.
