The Steam Client is crashing:

I'm on Fedora 41 (KDE Plasma), I can't launch Steam with the icon in the Start menu. PFA the error I'm getting sometimes.

Other times, it shows on the tray like below but I'm unable to open the Steam client with it. Nothing opens - Store, Library, Community; nothing.

Also find attached the steam.desktop file from /usr/share/applications directory which the Steam icon in Start menu uses.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

I've only tried on my desktop so can't say if it'll happen on other Fedora PCs too.

  1. Uninstalled Steam.
  2. Deleted .steam & .local/share/Steam
  3. Reinstalled Steam & tried launching with the icon in the Start menu.

Workaround:

Launching in terminal with steam command is working fine.
