If the game is installed with Steam Play, DirectX is not automatically installed which causes an issue for the game.
Solution: Install DirectX, which is provided in the game files.
It is recommended for Valve to install the provided DirectX that comes with the game files as a part of a script when installing the game with Steam Play.
