In the upper left hand corner of the first screenshot, you can see that a group event window is partially rendered. I know it is a group event because the group "No Heroes" often hosts events. The window might have popped up in Gnome Shell's expose view. It is not just a graphics card rendering error because the window is also listed in the alt-tab view and in Gnome Shell's expose view. See the attached screenshots.
I didn't notice or interact with the window until I saw this error. The Window can be moved to other desktops. It cannot be moved from the corner of the desktop it is on. I cannot seem to close the Window from either Gnome Shell's expose view or via alt-F4.
