Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I tried to use Steamlink to run my steam games in my living room when I noticed it would always time out and disconnect. I first assumed it was an internet problem until a laptop running Arch worked out of the box. I did some diagnosing and I found that Steamlink can send video, but only when I disabled the audio via Steamlink, and it seems the issue arises from Steam's client being unable to work with my current pipewire and wireplumber.
Another key note is that the client was using tailscale, which is likely moot in this case.
Additionally, my installation of Void Linux is using glibc, not musl.
It also could possibly be an issue with Steamlink looking for a systemd service, but I cannot confirm that, as I am able to play games fine with audio on my host machine fine.
Crash:
PipeWire: Initializing streaming
[E] pw.loop [loop.c:70 pw_loop_new()] ... can't make support.system handle: No such file or directory
Kernel log:
steam[31058]: segfault at 28 ip ... in libpipewire-0.3.so.0.1607.0
The crash repeats consistently in:
libpipewire-0.3.so.0.1607.0
PipeWire status before crash:
PipeWire 1.6.7 running normally
WirePlumber running
Pulse compatibility working:
Server Name: PulseAudio (on PipeWire 1.6.7)
PipeWire devices are visible and functional:
wpctl status shows audio devices, sinks, sources, and Steam client.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Start Steam on Void Linux and have Steamlink open on another device (i.e. Raspberry Pi 5)
Start Remote Play streaming via the client and enter the PIN on the host.
Steamlink lasts a few frames and Steam crashes when initializing audio streaming.
