I know this will be painful, but if you uninstall the game and reinstall does it still happen? If so, after it fails can you find the steam.log file in your Steam directory and upload it here as a gist?

Yeah, it happened again and restarting steam fixes only, I have not tried other games.

Hi all. I also have this issue downloading counter strike: source.

To summarize, it will begin downloading at a decent speed, then stop downloading. If I pause and resume, it will not continue downloading. If I exit steam and reopen steam, it will resume downloading.

Some basic system info:

Kernel: 3.2.0-37-generic-pae
Architecture: i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
MemTotal: 3856064 kB
Distro: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS

Let me know if there is anything specific that I could provide to help debug.
