Do you run TF2 windowed or full screen? If you run it windowed, does switching to full screen alleviate this at all?
I run TF2 in full screen mode.
I've been having the same problems running fullscreen on Kubuntu 12.10. Disabling raw input is much more reliable than raw input now.
Just experienced this problem on DoD Source. Raw input seems to work perfectly on my desktop computer with a logitech G5 mouse, but on my laptop with a basic logitech mouse, I get this issue. Both computers are Arch Linux running the game fullscreen in KDE with compositing off. Only difference seems to be the mouse. I used to have this problem on my desktop also, but it was fixed with a recent update. Laptop still doesn't register mouse clicks occasionally, and sometimes the trigger gets stuck down after releasing the mouse button.
After playing some more, raw input works almost perfectly on my desktop, but not quite. Occasionally (rarely) a mouse click will not register, but it never gets "stuck" on. My laptop running the exact same software stack still has both problems often enough to make it unplayable. The laptop is a low end sandy bridge and can barely play the game with low settings, so I'm wondering if the lower FPS is triggering this. My desktop has a GTX 660 and never experiences low FPS, so maybe that has something to do with it working more reliably. I tried several different mice on my laptop and it didn't seem to make any difference. So two computers with the same software stack... high end system experiences this issue very rarely, while the low end system experiences it frequently. The mouse doesn't seem to matter either. So my guess is some sort of timing issue that becomes more apparent as FPS drops.
I thought the issue was gone because I hadn't experienced it for several months on my gaming rig. Then it popped up again this week. Once it was triggered, it happened on every mouse click until I closed the game. I fired up the laptop, and there it still happens almost immediately when I start playing. So again, it happens on different graphics hardware, different mice, and different games. Seems to point to the game engine rather than the computer.
Hello, is anyone still experiencing this issue with an up to date system?
Closing pending feedback.
@kisak-valve I currently have this issue. It started without changing any in game settings this week. If you are interested i can post my system info.
Hello @cob16, please open a new issue report in the Source-1-Games issue tracker.
Nothing extracted yet.
Since it seems i cannot reopen a closed issue, I'm creating a new one.
In TF2 with raw input enabled, sometimes mouse clicks are not registered:
