Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible: If Steam starts it will download and install Mono Packet to various Proton versions. It opens a Window for Mono to install or cancle but if i start to install the Mono- Packet start to download but can not install (with the massage: "unexpected file sice" bzw. in german: "unerwartete Dateigröße").

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Install the Steam- Beta
  2. Install various Proton Packages and or Proton-GE-Builds
  3. Wait for autoload at startup.

Hello @SaschaVasarrhelyi, this reads like #8146 / #8167. This is quirk behavior in some third party Proton build exposed by #8114. Mainline Proton releases bundle wine-mono and never need to download that separately.

Your best option is to identify what third party Proton version is running when the dialog pops up and remove it.

Closing in favor of #8114.
