My set up is using the included GNOME, and the UX is the systemtray icon for STEAM. I click on it to set my status from Online to something else like Away/Invisible/Offline. This sets my status correctly in the Friends section. However when I click on the systemtray icon again, it does not show the actual current state (checkmark) in that menu correctly.
As you can see in the screenshot my status is Away but Online is checked.
