Works with nodxvk (but visual buggy). Works with dxvk amd integrated (but, too low fps). Got error when trying to run on Nvidia discrete:
A D3D11-compatible GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) is required to run the engine.

I would like to question the 'not our bug' statement if this occurs on different setups. For instance, I have to use the Nvidia 580 drivers on my System76 Adder WS otherwise DXVK and vkd3d-proton titles will fail compatibility checks. This and this seem to suggest otherwise on the idea it's not a DXVK bug.

Well, if you believe that there is a bug in our code, feel free to debug and fix it. And no, simply not reporting integrated graphids or reporting GPUs in a different order again is not an option because that's just going to make everything worse, and from what I've seen it's just vkCreateDevice failing for.... some reason.

There are plenty of iGPU+dGPU setups that work perfectly fine, including my own laptop. Can't really do anything here without a way to reproduce.

I'm not sure which side the issue is on, but try running nvidia-smi first, then launch the game. For some reason, on a GTX 1060 with driver version 580, DXVK runs without depending on nvidia_uvm, but on an RTX 5070 with open source driver version 595, DXVK requires nvidia_uvm.

As newer hardware becomes more common, and as more people switch to NVIDIA's open kernel modules, this issue will likely appear more frequently. Regardless of which side the problem is on, or whether it ultimately requires cooperation from both sides, I hope this issue can be resolved.

iirc Steam already does something to make nvidia_uvm load. This isn't something that we can do on the dxvk side and if it's required to run virtually anything then I don't understand why this isn't done on the driver side of things anyway.

Wrong guess. The game actually does wake up the NVIDIA GPU when it starts, but nvidia_uvm is indeed not the answer either.

All I know is that once I run nvidia-smi one time, the game can run. I still cannot figure out what exactly nvidia-smi does to the GPU.

EDIT:
I have found what is needed. It requires not only the nvidia_uvm module, but also the corresponding device file. nvidia-smi is not required.
